Students rejoice, Google Voice is now free

Google Voice

My prayers have been answered, and thank goodness this announcement came the week I received word that my university email account will soon be discontinued. It will be removed due to state budget cuts. Sad, alumni can’t even keep their email once they graduate, but at least I’ll get to reap one more last perk before it goes away.

Google Voice is now FREE for any student with a .edu email address. That’s right students, you need to sign up now. Back in the day, a dot EDU email address could only get you access to a then little known social network called Facebook, but now you can get something useful that’s not a complete and utter waste of time. It’s up to you to decide and wager on what Google does with your privacy.

Recent grads, there is no shame in signing up either. We earned it!
